Edward Manuel is a graduate of Oberlin College (B.A. 1954) and the University of Michigan (J.D. 1957), where he was a member of the Law Review and the Order of the Coif.

Ed has been a practicing lawyer for more than 40 years and has been involved in all aspects of financing's of commercial and residential real estate, including fee and leasehold mortgages, construction and permanent mortgages on shopping centers, apartment and office buildings, and land sales and development. He has also worked extensively with money center banks and government agencies in connection with mortgage banking, including mortgage warehouse facilities, servicing and mortgage company acquisitions, and mortgage-backed securities backed by single family and multi-family commercial loans.

Ed's financing experience also includes publicly rated debt (with credit enhancement by pool insurance or letters of credit) and floating rate tax exempt real estate financing's.

Before joining Siller Wilk, Ed was associated with the firm of Hughes, Hubbard and Reed, and was a partner in the firm of Trubin Sillcocks Edelman & Knapp and in the firm of Reid & Priest. Ed is also experienced in enforcement and realization on real estate security, including foreclosure and bankruptcy proceedings and workout agreements. He is the co-author of Bankruptcy Considerations and Strategies for Commercial Lenders which appeared in the Real Estate Review, Winter 1992, published by The Real Estate Institute of New York University. Until recently, Ed was a Member and Secretary of the Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals of Greenwich, Connecticut. He now serves on the Planning Commission of the City of Danbury, Connecticut.
