Siller Wilk LLP Assists Nielsen Media Research in leasing and later disposing of 154,000 square feet of office space in mid-town Manhattan
July 2004
In May and June of 2004, Rob Reichman and Jonathan Weiss of Siller Wilk represented Nielsen Media Research in disposing of 154,000 square feet of office space at 605 Third Avenue, a premier midtown New York office building, and concluded two major sublease transactions. In one transaction, Pfizer Inc. (one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world) sublet from Nielsen Media 127,000 square feet, and in the other, Jones Day (one of the largest law firms in the world) took 27,000 square feet.
Previously, in November 2000, Siller Wilk had represented Nielsen Media in connection with its prime lease of this space at 605 Third Avenue. Nielsen Media had been planning to move its executive offices to this building once its lease in another midtown office building expired. However, prior to moving to its new space on Third Avenue, space became available at 770 Broadway, where its parent company, VNU, Inc. maintains its United States corporate headquarters. Rather than move to Third Avenue, Nielsen Media leased office space at 770 Broadway, and put its space on Third Avenue on the sublet market. The Pfizer sublease was one of the biggest New York real estate lease transactions in 2004. We are pleased to have assisted Nielsen Media in disposing of this major block of office space.
Siller Wilk LLP represents VNU, Inc. and its affiliated companies, including Nielsen Media, in various matters, including VNU's real estate requirements throughout the world.
